For more than 6 years the team at The Dept. has worked with many clients to develop unique and effective solutions delivering business objectives, brand positioning – and marketing and sales initiatives.

Our wide experience base gives us a unique understanding of how to help our clients differentiate their market presence and strengthen their business, through better growth and results-based strategies, in a highly competitive market environment.

The Dept. is based in Auckland – the City of Sails – and serve clients throughout New Zealand and further afield in international markets.

Trevor Moodie and Pat Murray are the Managing Partners who have day-to-day management responsibility for the business.Andy MacDowell is the founding partner who is now taking a non-executive role in the business.

Initially, Andy and Trevor, worked together on the Agency Council and as judges of the Marketing Association’s RSVP Awards – leading to the decision to work together in The Dept. They have huge experience in both the corporate and SME markets and have helped hundreds of clients grow their businesses.

Pat brings a strong corporate ‘client experience’ to the Department. An essential perspective to ensure we truly develop a deep understanding of our clients business. He has held significant General Management and strategic marketing positions with local and international organisations.

Trevor served on the holding Board of Ogilvy and Mather, headed up Ogilvy One before joining Robbins Brandt Richter (RBR) in Auckland and becoming its GM and CEO.

He has been involved in a number of successful start-up’s (Ogilvy One, Studio 27 and DataConsult) and helped leverage the sale of RBR to the Photon Group in 2004.

He has been involved in industry activities for over 20 years, including his current role as Chief Judge of the Marketing Associations RSVP Awards, a position he has held for 6 years.

One of his major successes was setting up the international joint-venture operation – Northern Hemisphere Programme (NZ Pip Fruit industry).

Pat has had a range of Board memberships roles including ENZA, Prevar and the NZ Marketing association and has operated in a number of international markets including Asia, South and North America, Africa and Europe.

He has judged industry awards within both the advertising and marketing industry.

A graduate of AUT University, Craig has worked in both marketing, promotions and technology. It is harnessing the power of technology to build successful client outcomes that has become his passion.

He has worked with a number of client organisations including Big Wave Consulting and, more recently, The Dept. During his time with The Dept. he has worked on developing websites for Jalcon, The Dept., PandaInspire, EEIL and Blue Duck Creative. In addition he has worked creatively on developing a range of presentations and collateral.

He has also produced a range of videos (filming and editing) for the likes of The Human Rights Commission, The Speakeasy Entertainment Website and Sol Communications.

Craig is proficient in App Development, Content Management, Social Media – management and strategy and MS Applications.

In his spare time, he is a DJ of note and is recognized as one of the leading local DJ’s in Auckland. He is also a ‘Gamer’ of some repute.
